Officials in Noida and Greater Noida have announced a delayed start for classes, ranging from nursery to 8, in response to the ongoing cold weather conditions. Starting from January 18, all schools will commence classes at 10 am until further notice from the district administration. The decision is a precautionary measure, considering dense fog and extreme cold, as instructed by the District Magistrate, Gautam Buddh Nagar. Strict enforcement of the new schedule has been urged by GautamBuddh Nagar Basic Education Officer Rahul Panwar. While classes were ongoing for students of 9 to 12, their school timings were changed last week from 10 am to 3 pm, according to a separate order issued by District Inspector of Schools DharmveerSingh. This timing for Classes 9 to 12 will continue till January 20, the order had stated. This altered schedule is in effect due to the prevailing winter conditions in the region, deviating from the usual 9 am to 3 pm timetable observed by government schools in Noida during winters.
