The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the "Support to Students for Participating in Competitions Abroad" (SSPCA) scheme to boost the global competitiveness of Indian students in technical fields. This initiative provides travel grants of up to Rs 2 lakh per student for participation in international scientific events. Eligible students enrolled in AICTE-approved institutions, including diploma, BE/BTech, integrated MTech, and ME/MTech programs, can benefit from this scheme. The SSPCA initiative not only offers financial aid but also provides mentorship, logistical support, and networking opportunities to students or student teams representing India on the international stage. AICTE emphasizes the benefits of participating in international competitions, such as skill enhancement, knowledge exchange, and cultural enrichment, in an increasingly interconnected world. Applicants are required to apply offline to AICTE New Delhi at least two months before the event, submitting necessary documents including an acceptance letter from competition organizers and full competition details.
