The 16th World Punjabi Conference, organized by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Rohtak in collaboration with Jagat Punjabi Sabha, Canada, took place in New Delhi on February 24 and 25, 2024. The event aimed to highlight the significant contributions of the Punjabi community on the global stage. Air Chief Marshal BirenderSingh Dhanoa and National Commission for Minorities Chairman Iqbal Singh Lalpurawere among the dignitaries present at the valediction ceremony. Over 200 guests attended the conference, including notable figures such as MP Hans Raj Hans, former Cabinet Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodi, and Lord Rami Ranger. Speakers emphasized Punjab's role as a key contributor to India's prosperity, particularly through the green revolution and in various fields such as sports and the armed forces. Prof. Dheeraj Sharma of IIM Rohtak highlighted the notable achievements of Punjabis in the Indian armed forces, including the recipients of prestigious military honors like the Param Vir Chakra and Vir Chakra.
