On July 26th, India observes Kargil Diwas, a day dedicated to honouring the sacrifices made by the soldiers during the Kargil War in 1999. This day serves as a tribute to the brave heroes who laid down their lives while defending the nation's sovereignty. In our school, KIIT World School, we honoured the spirit of Kargil Diwas and Van Mahotsav week by organizing a tree plantation drive on 26th July, 2023, in association with the GurugramCity Lions Trust  to instill environmental consciousness among students and promote sustainable practices. In the tree plantation drive, we planted 800 saplings in the school herbal garden and the nearby localities. Furthermore, we invited Sarpanch from nearby villages, RWA members from societies, and parent representatives from each class and distributed more than 600 saplings to parents and students. Thus enhancing the green cover around our school and positively impacting the local ecosystem. For this initiative, Gurugram City Lions Trust  awarded the school with a trophy. Planting trees symbolized the commitment to protect and nurture our environment, just as our soldiers safeguard our nation.
