Q. Could you provide us with a brief overview of your professional background and areas of expertise?
Born and raised in a family of industrious entrepreneurs, I was immersed in the business world from an early age. Observing my parents running an educational institution, taught me the complexities of management right in our own premises. I hold a Master's degree in English and have over 20 years of experience in school administration. I have served as the President of the ICSE Principals Association, North Zone, India and have participated in various conferences and seminars of national and international repute. In 2019, I was made a Board Member of the Punjab School Education Board by the Honourable Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. My expertise lies in curriculum development, fostering a positive learning environment, and implementing effective educational strategies. I am committed to promoting student success and creating a supportive school community.
Q. Could you highlight some of your key accomplishments in the field of education?
I've successfully led initiatives to enhance student engagement through innovative teaching methods, resulting in a noteworthy improvement in standardised test scores. Additionally, I've spearheaded the implementation of a comprehensive character education programme, fostering a positive school culture. My commitment to professional development has led to a notable increase in teacher effectiveness and overall academic achievement. We recently received the Education Conclave Schools of Excellence (Excellence in Academics by News18 Punjab Haryana from Education Minister Mr. Harjot Singh Bains). I’m humbled to be honoured with Excellence Award for Quality Education by Honourable Governor of Maharashtra Shri Ramesh Bais and the Education Minister of Maharashtra Shri Deepak Kesarkar. In 2023 the school received the Best School Academic Performance from FAP (Federation of Private Schools and Associations of Punjab), India’s Top Prestigious School Jury Award 2023 for ‘Best Academic Excellence School’ by EducationToday, to name a few of the many awards we received.
Q. What impactful changes or innovations have you implemented in the education segment and what further advancements would you like to see or implement in the field of education?
I've introduced a personalised learning approach, leveraging technology to tailor education to individual student needs, resulting in improved comprehension and retention. As per NEP 2020, special emphasis is laid on the Vocational Education of the children. Looking ahead, I aim to integrate more STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programmes to prepare students for evolving career landscapes. Emphasising critical thinking and problem-solving skills will remain a focal point to equip students for success in the 21st century.

My advice to emerging educational professionals is to prioritise strong communication skills, fostering collaboration among staff, parents, and students. Embrace adaptability in the face of evolving educational landscapes and always champion a student-centred approach. Lead with empathy, understanding the diverse needs of your school community and cultivate a positive, collaborative learning environment. Continuous professional development and a commitment to lifelong learning are key to effective educational leadership.
