Assam's Higher Education Minister, RanojPegu, announced that approximately 1.5 lakh students have been successfully admitted to government and provincialised colleges and universities in the state via the integrated portal assamadmission.samarth.ac.in. The first-year classes for undergraduate students are scheduled to begin on August 1. Among the admitted students, 82,400 are female, surpassing the number of 67,400 male students and three transgender students. The integrated admission portal, Samarth eGov, was launched to facilitate digital planning, management, delivery, and monitoring of services for students, staff, and stakeholders in universities. Next year, free online admission services will also extend to private colleges, including ventures.
