AIIMS Delhi has signed an agreement with the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) to assess the technical feasibility of converting the hospital campus into a solar-powered facility. As part of the agreement, IREDA will conduct a techno-commercial assessment of the AIIMS campus, including financial models, pre-feasibility studies, and a detailed project report (DPR). The goal is to analyze technical and commercial aspects related to project development, finalize commercial and contracting arrangements, and define performance indicators. Recently, a nine Kilowatt rooftop solar plant was inaugurated at the AIIMS New Delhi campus. By implementing solar power projects, AIIMS aims to reduce its electricity expenditure and minimize its carbon footprint with the assistance of IREDA.
