A total of 140 students have been selected from over 6,000 who applied for the summer internship under the Delhi University (DU)’s Vice Chancellor Internship Scheme (VCIS) for the academic year 2024-25. The university conducted an orientation programme for the new batch today. The office of Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW) received a total of 6,464 applications for the summer internship. Of total, 1,564 applicants with SGPA of 8.1 or more in the last exam were shortlisted for the GD. The Group Discussion was conducted in four parallel sessions for two and a half days, each student batch consisting of 10-12 applicants. 140 interns have been selected on the basis of their SGPA and GD performances. The selected DU interns would be engaged in 45 different branches or sections of the university. The internship will be held from June 7, 2024 to August 6, 2024 with a stipend of Rs 10,500 per month. DU VC professor Yogesh Singh was present during the event as the chief guest. Addressing the students, he said.
