India School Merit Awards (ISMA) are conducted by EducationToday every year. The award’s motto is to recognize educational institutions for their exemplary contribution to the field of education. And how do we provide this? We conduct an extended survey which is conducted a few months ahead of the award ceremony in December. Post the survey, a distinguished panel of educationists decide on the awards by allotting them into different categories.
The survey
The survey is created by our expert panel and is distributed throughout India. It is conducted both online and offline and is accessible through online platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. The survey forms will also be sent by mail to the schools and higher education institutions.
Who participates in the survey? The panel will create two questionnaires for the schools.
. For the school: Educators of the school have to fill this part of the survey
. For parents of the students: This makes our survey unique! We include parents as well while evaluating the schools. The parents are invited to rate based on certain parameters given by our survey team. This is one of our crucial forms of input as the parents are the ones who know the ins and outs of the school. Parents opinion input makes our survey the most credible.
The panel
The India School Merit Awards 2023 for K-12 and higher education survey panel comprises the team at EducationToday and a panel of jury members. These jury members are eminent educationists and other veterans in the field who have over 15-20 years of industry experience. The survey created by our team includes a set of questions that includes individual attention to students, academic reputation, digital learning advancement, and holistic education, amongst others.
The duly filled survey forms are classified by the EducationToday survey team into CBSE, ICSE and International Schools categories according to their syllabus, while pre-schools will be classified into Montessori, preschool, and day care. The schools will be ranked based on the scores obtained by them in the survey.
Award category
The award categories will be devised based on the survey results. The award-winning schools will be featured in the December issue of our EducationToday magazine, and will also be awarded in a physical event conducted in the month of December in Bengaluru.
