Heavy rainfall, ranging from 5 cm to 6 cm and higher in some areas, has already been experienced in Chennai and nearby regions, causing traffic congestion and affecting districts like Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, and Chengelpet. The Regional Meteorological Centre's bulletin indicates the development of a Well Marked Low Pressure Area, expected to transform into a cyclonic storm. The weather system, coupled with a cyclonic circulation over Sri Lanka, is anticipated to bring rainfall to Tamil Nadu and neighboring Puducherry until December 3.
