The JNU administration, led by Vice-Chancellor Santishree Pandit, has decided to reconsider proctorial inquiries against student representatives and hostel presidents who protested water shortage. The move follows an assurance during a meeting with JNUSU representatives. While the JNUSU remains dissatisfied, hostel presidents acknowledge the promise but express concerns about ongoing inquiries. The JNUSU plans a torch march on December 23, demanding changes to the Chief Proctor Office manual and closure of proctorial inquiries. The students also cite dissatisfaction with the lack of clear plans to address the water crisis, attributed to a purported "lack of funds."
